RALEIGH, N.C. — Davin Vann put his leadership into action this week on the field to help lift NC State to a win over NIU and to help relief efforts following Hurricane Helene.
The NC State football captain initiated the Wolfpack’s effort to collect and transport supplies to Western North Carolina, an area severely damaged by the hurricane this past week. Since Vann’s family owns a moving company, the means and opportunity were right there to make a difference. Rather than sitting back, Vann and his family jumped at the opportunity to help others.
“Me and my mom, we were talking about it Sunday night,” Vann said. “We talk a lot about doing charity and stuff like that. We, a lot of times, put it off but we decided that this is one thing that we really wanted to take action on because people were struggling so bad. She texted coach Doeren that next day. He was on board immediately. Right after she texted him, he texted me and got things rolling. It was real quick.”…
