The Wake Forest Fire Department is bringing back its beloved annual tradition with the Fish Fry event on April 25, a community gathering that not only serves up a seafood feast but also supports a noble cause. Scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., or until supplies run out, this year’s fry will be held at Fire Station #1, located at 420 Elm Ave.
According to the Wake Forest’s official announcement, for a modest sum of $10, attendees can enjoy a plate packed with fried flounder, boiled potatoes, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Payment can be made via cash, check, or credit card. While no preorders are being taken this time around, but, the fry offers both eat-in and drive-thru options for guests.
The Fish Fry isn’t just about indulging in comfort food; the proceeds will directly benefit the Wake Forest Firefighters Foundation, a local organization supporting those who put their lives on the line to safeguard the community. For those who wish to contribute beyond their meal purchase, a concurrent food drive for the Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry will take place during the event, inviting participants to donate non-perishable food items to help feed the hungry in the area…
