WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Michelle Valorae moved to the DMV from a neighboring state, five years ago and has continued to be at the forefront of helping women who have been physically, sexually and emotionally abused.
Valorae even wrote a book about her own journey of recovery in hopes that it would help others.
“Although my heart is for survivors, anyone can take something from this book, Valorae said. “A lot of us are carrying around trauma and don’t realize it and we are taking it on as our identity and it’s not our identity.”
