BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — We all know smartphones are good for texting, emails, phone calls and yes, selfies, but now three former Yale University students are helping to save lives with live video.
This new technology for 911 dispatchers is growing in Connecticut. But the co-founders say they are working to make it much bigger, both statewide and across the country.
The technology works like this. A video link is simply sent to your phone by police or a 911 dispatcher. They will ask you if you are in a safe location and then you click on the link and your phone transmits live video and sound back to the emergency response center…
