Residents of San Francisco’s 6th St. found themselves amidst emergency response vehicles as the San Francisco Fire Department tackled a one-alarm fire yesterday. According to an X post by SFFD, the fire occurred at 46 6th St. and was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials that ignited the rooftop of the building.

Reported at 4:15 PM, the fire produced significant black smoke, creating a visual concern for locals. Firefighters, including units E1, E3, E36, T1, T3, RS1, B02, B03, RC1, and M575, were dispatched to control the situation. It was determined that the fire had extended into the attic of the five-story building, and no residents were injured or displaced. They were rapidly allowed back into their units once the fire was managed.

The swift action of SFFD units ensured the fire was extinguished without harming the neighborhood’s residents.
