AfroNation should be Detroit’s signature festival

AfroNation Detroit 2024 did not disappoint. As a second-time attendee, I am once again proud that an event of this magnitude could happen in my hometown. Having lived through the economic lows of the city, it is pure redemption to see people coming from other states and countries to share an experience here. Detroit was on full display this past weekend, with plenty of safe lodging, dining and nightlife experiences for everyone. This is the Detroit we brag about, a place of unity, pride and celebration. I am looking forward to AfroNation Detroit 2025. I hope to see this turn into a signature summer event for Detroit like Coachella in California or Lollapalooza in Chicago. When it does (fingers crossed), I would like to see it evolve into a three-day festival with more activations and performances.
