ANCRAM – When it comes to rescuing horses mired in muck, no one does it better than the Patterson Fire Department Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue Team in Putnam County.
Six times in 2023 and on numerous occasions last year, the team was summoned to assist agencies within the county as well as in Dutchess and Westchester to save horses in distress.
The most recent rescue came Wednesday when the local firefighters were dispatched to assist the Ancram Fire Department with a horse rescue in the Town of Ancram, 52 miles away in southern Columbia County…
