WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — A Windsor Locks man was found guilty on Friday of committing two robberies in 2020, according to the Department of Justice.
Man charged with robbing East Haven smoke shop at knifepoint
Geoffrey Shapiro, 44, allegedly entered a Dunkin’ Donuts in Simsbury on Feb. 9, 2020, placed an order and then displayed a small handgun, pointing it at the employee at the register. Shapiro told the employee to give him money twice before they gave him $390. He then left the store.
A few weeks later on Feb. 21, 2020, Shapiro allegedly entered a Webster Bank in Glastonbury, handed the teller a note that said “stay calm, I have a gun,” ordered the teller to give him over $1,800 from her drawer and exited the bank.
Glastonbury police arrested him on the day of the Webster Bank incident. He was found guilty of one count of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of armed bank robbery. He is facing a maximum sentence of 40 years…
