CEDAR FALLS — More than 98% of University of Northern Iowa faculty members voted to recertify their union, United Faculty.
The past three recertification elections were supported by more than 97% of the union’s nearly 500 members. This year, 98.3% supported it.
“At a time when campus climate surveys indicate growing dissatisfaction with increasing workloads and insufficient institutional resources, and when our own research reveals salaries significantly lagging behind peer institutions, a union with such strong faculty support gives faculty a much larger voice at the table,” Christopher Martin, United Faculty’s president, said in a news release…
