Marina Man Sentenced To Prison For Woman’s Fatal Fentanyl Overdose

A 29-year-old Marina man was handed a prison term after confessing to supplying fentanyl to a woman who died of drug overdose in 2023, according to Monterey County prosecutors.

Matthew James Hurley pleaded guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and furnishing fentanyl to the overdose victim. He was sentenced to more than a year of incarceration and to felony probation, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement Thursday.
