The venerable Goodwin Performance snowmobile aftermarket performance shop announced on April 2 that it is being acquired by Wisconsin-based Toolamation. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to the press release, Goodwin Performance will continue to make, sell and distribute snowmobile components, but the founders are moving a half-step away from the business. Former Eagle River World Champion Greg Goodwin will serve in a consulting role, while Kurt Krumm is starting his own business that will serve as a vendor to the new company.
The Goodwin business will also move from its longtime location in Zion, Illinois, to the Toolamation facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin. WIth the change of state, that might sound like a big move, but it’s truly just 8 miles to the northeast.
