Editor’s note: Evanston RoundTable photographer Richard Cahan spent several hours with mayoral candidates Daniel Biss and Jeff Boarini as they canvassed voters this past weekend.
“I love door knocking and here’s why,” said Daniel Biss, campaigning Saturday in South Evanston. “What you encounter while door knocking are the people who don’t come to City Hall.”
Biss was walking the neighborhood west of Asbury Avenue and north of Howard Street. He hopes to ring the bells at 1,000 homes during this campaign.
“It’s not efficient,” he said, “but it’s irreplaceable. You can’t have this depth of conversation with people who don’t seek you out any other way. And so it’s very inefficient, and it’s absolutely wonderful.”…
