Public art restorations and new art opportunities to come

The city and Evanston Arts Council plan to restore several public art installations and bring new opportunities for art in the coming months. The popular Sea of the Ear sculpture by Takashi Soga in Fountain Square and two murals spray painted will be fixed, among other items.

Economic Development Manager Paul Zalmazek and Economic Development Coordinator Katie Boden joined the Arts Council for their Tuesday night meeting, discussing a number of art opportunities in conjunction with Evanston Thrives.

The Evanston Thrives initiative, which aims to help Evanston’s business districts, will bring artful items, from playful lighting under train overpasses to murals in upcoming public squares…
