Schaumburg, IL — Water system repairs starting Tuesday could affect supply routes in Schaumburg, but village officials say residents shouldn’t experience service interruptions.
According to the Village of Schaumburg, the Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency (NSMJAWA) discovered a leak in a 90-inch water main near I-90 and Elmhurst. The pipe, which delivers water to several member communities, will be shut down beginning April 1 for up to five days to complete repairs.
Thanks to an interconnection with the DuPage Water Commission, Schaumburg has access to a backup water supply. Officials say this will help maintain continuous water service and no community-wide boil order is anticipated.
