After 32 years of shaping young minds and tutoring students at Kumon Math and Reading Center of Kirkwood, owner and director Ann Quigley is passing the torch.
Quigley, 63, began her education journey as a middle and high school teacher. During her 12 years of teaching in public schools, she realized she wanted to get out of the traditional school setting, but remain connected to children and education. She also wanted a career that would allow her to stay home with her young children during the day.
Quigley created the best of both of those worlds when she opened the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Kirkwood on South Kirkwood Road on April 1, 1994. She stayed beyond her initial five-year plan after connecting with and watching her students flourish…
