HIDALGO, TX – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in Texas recently intercepted over $4.2 million worth of illegal drugs from a van attempting to cross into the U.S. at the Hidalgo Port of Entry. This significant seizure took place when CBP officers stopped the vehicle, which was later found to be carrying a large shipment of methamphetamine and heroin.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on December 13, a 2013 Chrysler van arrived at the Hidalgo Port of Entry’s International Bridge. CBP officers referred the vehicle for secondary inspection after an initial examination raised suspicion. Using advanced non-intrusive inspection systems and working alongside trained canine units, officers discovered 32 packages concealed inside the van.
