Waukesha book festival, disrupted by campus closing, plans events while seeking new sponsor

Disrupted by the announced closing of the UWM-Waukesha campus in the near future, the Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books plans four events in the coming months while it searches for a new primary sponsor.

Founded in 2009, the festival has brought together as many as a hundred authors with readers for an annual festival and related events on the UWM-Waukesha campus. The UWM-Waukesha Foundation has been its primary sponsor.

After the announcement in March that UWM would close the Waukesha campus at the end of the spring 2025 semester, a committee shepherded by festival founder Laraine O’Brien pondered options for the book event…
