Azzi Fudd vindicates Geno Auriemma call after putting on a show in UConn win

Geno Auriemma’s pledge that Azzi Fudd would return from injury “even better” has turned into reality , as she delivered a standout showing in UConn’s triumph over Georgetown.

The 22-year-old basketball star made her highly anticipated comeback from an ACL injury which curtailed her junior season in November 2023. After being sidelined for the first few games of the Huskies’ season, she is now visibly eager to compensate for the time she missed during her senior year.

Her recent game was marked by a tally of 21 points and a clutch of five 3-pointers in what turned out to be a heartfelt evening; Fudd played a pivotal role in a convincing 73-55 win. Friends and family were in attendance at Washington D.C.’s Entertainment and Sports Arena, offering a warm embrace as the away team secured victory without Paige Bueckers .
