Connecticut foster children pick out toys

GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Some children had the time of their lives in Glastonbury Monday morning. It was a pop-up giveaway of toys and games specifically for kids who receive services from the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.

Christmas came a little early for Allison and Ava, and they deserve it. They were under the care of DCF for about a year while their mother, Deborah Franklin, dealt with some issues.

“I have battled with addiction, domestic violence, abuse of all sorts,” Franklin said. “I was a foster care child myself.”…
