Springfield woman arrested following Arson & Bomb Squad investigation

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman from Springfield has been arrested following an Arson & Bomb Squad investigation on Friday.

Man sentenced for drugs and firearm charges in Northampton

The suspect, 37-year-old Samantha Rivera , is being accused of starting a fire at a home on the 400 block of Liberty Street back on October 13th at 1:15 a.m. A person was inside the home during the fire.

The Springfield Police Department states that firefighters noticed spilled gasoline inside the home, which they determined caused the fire.

Rivera was located and arrested in a parking lot on the 1300 block of Boston Road. She is being charged with arson and attempted murder.
