Monroe man pleads guilty to 2019 fatal hit and run crash

MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Daniel Ross appeared in court and pleaded guilty to Felony Hit and Run.

On October 22, 2019, Monroe Police were called about a hit and run on Park Avenue and Eason Place. Upon arrival, officers found 15-year-old Ashley Dorsey had been struck by a white SUV. A BOLO was issued and the suspect’s vehicle that matched the vehicle damages from the scene was located at a residence on Justice Street.

Officers then made contact with Ross, who was then interviewed by the Monroe Police Department and allegedly admitted to striking Dorsey with his car and leaving the scene without alerting officials. Ross was arrested and booked for Negligent Homicide and Hit and Run Driving; Resulting in Death or Serious Bodily Injury…
