Man sentenced for striking Farmington officer

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A suspect accused of crushing a Farmington officer in a getaway car three years ago has been sentenced, according to officials.

Pedro Acevedo, 32, was sentenced to 15 years for assault in the first degree, and 10 years for assault of public safety, emergency medical, public transit, or health care personnel. The sentencing is to be served concurrently, for a total of 15 years.

This comes after Farmington Officer James O’Donnell sustained serious injuries when he was struck by a stolen car in Sept. 2021.
