Community Spirit Shines in Clarksburg/Damascus

As the holiday season approaches, a heartwarming story has emerged from the Clarksburg and Damascus areas, showcasing the incredible bond between local schools and their communities. Mimi Cao has shared with us that recently, a group of dedicated parents, student leaders, and school principals came together to create a truly enchanting experience for the children at Cedar Grove Elementary School (photos below).

Over the weekend, volunteers, including students from the Student Service Learning (SSL) program, teamed up with Cedar Grove Elementary Principal Chris Wynne and Damascus High School Principal Bradley Rohner to transform the school into a breathtaking winter wonderland, inspired by the beloved Harry Potter series. The collective effort aimed to bring a touch of magic to the holiday season, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.

On Monday, the day of the final reveal, excitement filled the air as Cedar Grove students arrived at school to witness the delightful decorations for the first time. The looks of amazement and joy on their faces were priceless, capturing the true essence of what community spirit is all about. It was a moment that not only brought smiles to the children’s faces but also reinforced the unity and support among the Clarksburg and Damascus communities…
