Gettysburg flower shop reopens with a new name and passionate owner

102 Carlisle Street, former home of LocaFlora, has reopened its doors under new ownership and a fresh name—MHJ Flower Shop.

The store is owned by master gardener and landscape architect, Marann H. Jones. With her love of gardening and background in floral design, Jones has used her years of experience and passion to create this shop.

“I am a trained Landscape Architect, Floral Designer, Master Gardener, and a veteran homeschool mom,” said Jones. “The love of gardening was handed down to me from my grandmother. I enjoyed my childhood days planting cassava and all sorts of plants and veggies on her wonderful farm.”

Jones’ connection to the local community is already strong, having spent the past few years at the Adams County Farmers Market. “I’ve met all sorts of lovely people in the local area. In the process of doing what I love—growing and selling flowers—one thing led to another, and before I knew it, the opportunity to open the shop was placed providentially into my hands. I am so very thankful and excited to continue connecting with the rich community of historic Gettysburg,” she daid…
