FEMA grants over $2 million for NEPA firefighter health and safety

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — US Representative Matt Cartwright of Pennsylvania’s 8th congressional district announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded more than two million in federal funding to support NEPA firefighters and communities.

Wilkes-Barre itself has been granted a little under forty thousand dollars to purchase personal protective equipment and cleaning equipment.

As well as Scranton, who got nearly seventy thousand dollars to fund physical health exams and cancer screenings for seventy-five members of their fire department…
