SCRANTON, Pa. (WKRC) – A former police and school resource officer was arrested for allegedly raping and assaulting students at the high school he worked at.
According to Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry, 49-year-old Stephen J. Carroll was arrested on Friday morning for crimes dating back to 2009 after new evidence came to light. At the time of his arrest, Carroll was not employed by the Scranton Police Department.
Henry’s press release said that Carroll sexually abused students at West Scranton High School over the course of five years while he worked at the school as a resource officer. The assaults occurred at the high school itself and at Carroll’s home, according to the release…
