Carolina Beach to begin storm debris removal from the flood

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY)– It’s been a little more than a week since a storm dumped about 20 inches of rain on Pleasure Island and many residents there are still cleaning up the damage to their homes and businesses.

Carolina Beach allowed residents to put their storm debris to the curb Tuesday. They ask that community members place the flood debris in the right-of-way (ROW) in front of your home.

Separate the piles of debris by type such as appliances in a pile, leaves and branches in a pile, inert building materials in a pile, and furniture in a pile. It is stated that if piles are not separated, the items will not be picked up. Remember, not to put household trash in these piles…
