6 people hospitalized after serious crash near US Highway 27 in Polk County

FROSTPROOF, Fla. — Six people were sent to the hospital after a serious crash involving at least two cars near U.S. Highway 27 in Frostproof, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said in an email.

The crash reportedly happened around 8:21 p.m. Sunday on Alturas Babson Park Cutoff Road near the highway. Deputies said three people were taken to the hospital by ambulance while the remaining three were taken by helicopter.
