FROSTPROOF, Florida — An 18-year-old man from Frostproof was arrested on December 10, 2024, for multiple crimes, despite his mother’s efforts to hinder the investigation. Omar Sierra Jr. was apprehended by Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives after a month-long search.
Detectives began their search for Sierra following a November 9 incident in Frostproof, where he allegedly stole a mini-bike from a residence and threw sand in the owner’s eyes when confronted. Sierra managed to evade deputies for the next month, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
