The 47th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on Saturday, Jan. 18, is one of many events that will mark Lakeland’s celebration of the life of the late civil rights leader.
It will feature more than 100 participants, including sororities, fraternities, dance troupes, car clubs, marching bands and business owners.
Cora Rankins, the organizer for this year’s events, said members of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Commission of Lakeland hope people from all walks of life will join the festivities…
