Breeze Airways new service to Washington and Orlando is lifting off this week

SOUTH BEND ― Breeze Airways inaugural flight from Washington Dulles International Airport will receive a champagne christening when it lands Friday at 10:45 a.m. at the South Bend International Airport .

But it won’t be the first Breeze aircraft to land at the airport, as the airline’s service between Orlando and South Bend was scheduled to commence Thursday night at the airport.

South Bend Mayor James Mueller, St. Joseph County Commissioner Carl Baxmeyer, members of the St. Joseph County Airport Authority board and Fiona Kiesel, chief guest officer for Breeze, will take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Friday for the Washington flight…
