Dry conditions cause burn ban in Maryland

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) implemented a statewide burn ban on Nov. 1 after dry conditions led to more wildfires than usual.

Chris Robertson is the state fire supervisor for the Maryland Forest Service. He said it’s been a long time since the state experienced a significant drought like this.

“We haven’t seen these conditions in probably 20 years as far as low fuel moistures and drought indices right now,” Robertson said…
