Residents along the District’s shoreline, including parts of Alexandria and Arlington, should brace themselves for potential flooding as the Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 AM EDT Sunday, with inundation of one to two feet above ground level in low lying areas. “Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road and near the Tidal Basin,” warns the NWS, also noting that water may lap close to the curb at the intersection of King Street and Strand Street in Alexandria, such advice coming directly from the latest report.
