Several years ago, Daniel Yoder noticed a Fish Ohio pin at a flea market and thought it was interesting enough to purchase and take home. Then he found another and another. Today, he has two complete sets and has worked with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to promote and preserve a longtime Fish Ohio tradition.
Fish Ohio is a recognition program that awards lapel pins and certificates to anglers with significant catches. Several Ohio fish are included in the program, such as largemouth bass at a minimum of 20 inches, rock bass at a minimum of nine inches, and muskellunge at a minimum of 40 inches.
Master pins are awarded to anglers who catch four different species in one year that qualify for Fish Ohio status.
