Friendship Animal Protective League seizes 37 animals from Wellington rescue

The Friendship Animal Protective League removed 37 animals from a Wellington property after executing a search warrant on Wednesday.

Inside the Unleashed Animal Rescue, agents found unsanitary conditions including “cages that appeared to not have been cleaned in weeks, a fly infestation … and dehydrated animals without access to fresh water, including bowls filled with mold and algae,” according to the Friendship Animal Protective League.

“It really took all the massive efforts of all our staff,” said Greg Willey, Friendship Animal Protective League executive director. “We had to remove cages filled with weeks of feces. … It was a difficult day.”…
