PRINCETON, Mass. — Massachusetts is home to multiple “college” towns with Ivy League names. Princeton, Mass. is home to horseback riding atCornerstone Ranch. Susan Connell founded the 55-acre ranch in 2004. The horse farm is open for riding lessons and trail rides throughout the year. Visitors also enjoy relaxing wagon rides. All of the horses on the ranch are trained to work with beginners.

“The trail rides are all just walking, nice and slow. When people show up, if they seem nervous because they haven’t been exposed to horses, I remind them quickly that horses are vegetarians and that usually settles their nerves quite a bit,” Connell said.

After an adventure, hungry outdoors people can refuel with fresh pastries and sandwiches inside a historic building turned popular hillside café right down the road. Katherine Huck and Robin Springfield are business partners and co-owners of Mountainside Bakery and Cafe. The duo spent a year renovating the building before opening in 2019…
