In Harvard, Mass., a paradise of alpacas welcomes visitors

HARVARD, Mass. — Massachusetts is home to multiple “college” towns with Ivy League names. In the rural town of Harvard, hang out with a herd of alpacas at theHarvard Alpaca Ranch.

Their wool is sheared and used for all things warm and fuzzy. Socks are a big seller at the farm’s gift shop, as well as little finger puppets. However, as huggable as the alpacas may seem, owners Amy and Matthew Varrell say that not all of them are ready for a selfie.
