Cool and dry today with increasing clouds and overnight showers in the Yakima Valley

A weak ridge today will keep us sunny and decent for late October with temps near or just below average in the mid to low 50s. A few passing clouds today will decrease this afternoon briefly before increasing overnight. The incoming warm front crosses the Cascades overnight with stray showers near the Yakima and Kittitas Valleys and lows in the mid to upper 30s.

The upper trough this weekend will keep us rainy in the mountains with blustery showers in the lower elevations through Monday afternoon. As colder air begins to cover the Cascades Sunday night, slight snow accumulation is likely up to 3″ along White Pass and a chance of trace amounts near Snoqualmie. Road temps should keep some of this from accumulating on the roadways, but more showers continue through the beginning of the week in the Cascades going from mixed precip to snow.

This weekend a deep upper trough will extend from the Gulf of Alaska to Northern California while combining with a low in the Pacific Saturday morning that will keep us cool and cloudy through the second half of our weekend. A chance of showers returns Saturday night through the beginning of next week, looking to be beneficial rainfall. The trough will continue to extend south over most of the west coast by Wednesday next week, deepening and moving eastward very slowly. Tuesday will have quick, strong ridging behind the deep trough, but it will be short-lived before the next cold front crosses the region Wednesday night…
