A dry line crosses the region late this afternoon wrapping up any lingering stray showers in the Pacific Northwest. Highs today will be slightly above average in the mid to upper 50s with partly cloudy skies and gusty winds. Continuing to clear up and settle down with cold overnight lows in the mid 30s, and locally cold areas in the upper 20s. A northerly flow aloft will bring cold, stable conditions into the region through Saturday as we drop to below average highs in the mid to upper 40s.
Saturday night/Sunday morning a warm front crosses the Cascades and blankets the region with showers and gusty winds as the trailing cold front arrives Sunday night. This will bring daytime highs up a little bit to end our weekend in the low 50s, before we drop to the upper 40s and low 50s by Monday. Overnight lows drop to the upper 20s and low 30s as we get stuck under an inversion by Tuesday morning.
The morning inversion Tuesday will lead to some patchy fog through the Columbia Basin, Yakima and Kittitas Valleys. As a northerly flow keeps cool air moving into the region, warming at the surface won’t be strong enough to break up the inversion set up that will trap cold air at the surface through the end of next week. Highs will settle around the mid 40s and lows will stay in the mid to upper 20s through next Friday…
