Quiet Christmas day, with more valley rain and mountain snow on the way!

Christmas day looks quiet, with our next system set to arrive overnight Wednesday into Thursday bringing a chance for a rain/snow mix for some of the higher benches around Spokane before transitioning to rain for the lower elevations. But moderate to heavy snow is expected in the mountains with snow levels dropping below 3,000′. National weather service has now issued winter storm warnings for the Cascades and winter weather advisories for the northern mountains of Washington, Idaho as well as the central Panhandle mountains for Wednesday evening through Thursday evening. For those of you set to travel, PLEASE be prepared for winter travel into the weekend.

Late December looks to be pretty mild…..
