It would be tough to miss ongoing construction in Yakima’s downtown.
For months, workers have been rebuilding North First Street from the ground up – the latest step in a years-long effort to renovate the corridor between Yakima Avenue and U.S. Highway 12. A block away, sidewalks on Staff Sgt. Pendleton Way and Second Street are getting similar treatment.
City staff said the big delays are coming to an end and the improved streets will begin to open up again as the year winds down…
