Man sentenced on gun charge in Boardman

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man was sentenced Tuesday in connection to a crash in Boardman.

Melvin McKee pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of improperly handling a weapon in a motor vehicle, a first-degree misdemeanor; and OVI. Charges of drug possession, OVI refusal and a felony weapons charge were dismissed.

McKee was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 177 days suspended and was ordered to serve probation for one year.

McKee was arrested in November after officers were called to the intersection of South Moyer avenues where they found a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole. The driver was identified as McKee. McKee’s driver’s license was also suspended for one year…
