NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- Mineral Ridge and Springfield went head-to-head Saturday in a showdown for first place in the MVAC. Both squads came in undefeated in conference play, but Ridge held their ground and walked away with a hard-fought 65-60 win over the Tigers.
Ava Hulett led the charge for Ridge, dropping 21 points and coming up clutch in key moments. Sullivan Sandy added 12, while Ava Carkido chipped in 11 and Gianna Gilbert put up 9 to help seal the deal.
Springfield didn’t go down without a fight. Jameka Brungard was a force, pouring in 27 points to keep the Tigers in the mix. Mariana Tuscano added 10, and Kendall Maughn contributed 7, but Ridge’s depth made the difference down the stretch…
