Lansing, MI – In a strategic move to reinforce Michigan’s legacy as a leader in both the automotive and defense industries, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced new investments by two prominent global companies. Laepple Automotive, a German auto parts manufacturer, will establish its U.S. headquarters in Detroit, while defense giant Saab is setting up an integration and assembly facility in Grayling Township. Together, these projects are set to create up to 242 quality jobs and inject over $168 million in capital investment into the state’s economy.
