Deer Creek High School band invited to play in London New Year’s Day Parade

EDMOND, Okla. ( KFOR ) – Deer Creek High School’s band has been invited to join in the 40th anniversary of the London New Year’s Day Parade on January 1, 2026.

According to Deer Creek Schools, the band was personally invited to participate in the parade on September, 26, 2024, after a group from England made a trip to Edmond.

Officials say Bob Bone, the London’s New Year’s Day Parade and Festival co-founder and chair, was accompanied by Steve Summers, chair of the London Mayors’ Association, (former Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster), Dean Oblonsky, senior American consultant, and Bill Northen, and Jonathan Whaley, senior directors of international participation extended an invitation to band students and staff.

“We only wanted the very best marching bands for our 40 th Anniversary event and know that the band has a terrific track record and reputation,” said Bone.
