The University of Oklahoma recently ranked 10th out of 75 in the most valuable college sports programs in the nation, according to CNBC’s athletics valuations released Thursday.
The rankings, derived from the Department of Education’s Equity in Athletics Data Analysis and the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics for the fiscal year 2023, are limited to NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools. They reflect each program’s current enterprise value, starting with a base revenue multiple of four, adjusted for factors like conference affiliation, NIL spending, school subsidies, alumni numbers and other elements that drive future growth and profitability.
