Al-Fayed Accused of Rape

Additional Coverage:

Mohamed Al-Fayed, father of Princess Diana’s former boyfriend, is facing accusations of sexual assault from five women who worked at his London store, Harrods.

The allegations, detailed in a BBC documentary, claim that Al-Fayed abused the women in locations across the globe, including London, St. Tropez, Abu Dhabi, and Paris.

Harrods has apologized for failing to protect its employees and has settled several lawsuits brought by victims. Al-Fayed, who died in 2023, was previously accused of sexual assault on three separate occasions.

The accusations against Al-Fayed have been linked to the Netflix series "The Crown," which depicted him as arranging his son’s relationship with Princess Diana for personal gain. Al-Fayed’s former spokesperson has denied these claims, calling them "total nonsense."

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, you can contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).
