Alex Bowman’s NASCAR playoff hopes were dashed after a post-race inspection revealed his car failed a weight check. Bowman, who initially finished 18th, was disqualified and dropped to 38th place. This decision eliminated him from the Round of 8, leaving Joey Logano as the final qualifier.
Bowman had a strong season leading up to the Charlotte race, with a win and several top-10 finishes. However, his season will now end prematurely.
The Round of 8 begins next weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and concludes at Martinsville Speedway on November 3rd. Only four drivers will advance to the championship race on November 10th.
