Army, Navy Ranked in AP Poll for First Time in 63 Years

Additional Coverage:

For the first time in over 60 years, both Army and Navy football teams are ranked in the top 25. This historic achievement is a testament to the exceptional talent and leadership on both teams.

Quarterback Blake Horvath has transformed Navy’s offense into a dual-threat powerhouse, while Bryson Daily leads Army’s dominant rushing attack, which ranks among the best in the nation.

The coaches have played a crucial role in this resurgence. Navy’s Brian Newberry has re-established the program as a contender, while Army’s Jeff Monken has led the Black Knights to unprecedented heights.

Interestingly, the teams’ success has coincided with the implementation of rule changes that have made it more challenging for service academies to compete. However, these obstacles have only fueled their determination.

The rivalry between Army and Navy is set to reach new heights this season, with the possibility of both teams playing for an AAC championship on December 6. The outcome of that game could have major implications for the College Football Playoff.
