Aubrey Plaza’s Husband, Filmmaker Jeff Baena, Dies at 47

Tragic news has hit the entertainment industry with the untimely passing of filmmaker Jeff Baena at age 47.

Baena’s wife, actress Aubrey Plaza, confirmed his death to CBS News. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office also verified the news. No cause of death has been disclosed yet.

Baena gained recognition for his 2014 comedy “Life After Beth,” starring Plaza, and co-writing the 2004 film “I Heart Huckabees.” He recently created, wrote, and directed Showtime’s “Cinema Toast” (2021) and the 2022 movie “Spin Me Round.”

Plaza, 40, and Baena married in 2021. They collaborated frequently on Baena’s projects. Plaza revealed that their wedding was a spontaneous event in their backyard during the COVID-19 pandemic, coinciding with their tenth anniversary.

Baena is survived by his wife, parents, and siblings.
